2008 RFS Annual Meeting-Recap
16th Annual RFS Meeting and 85th Annual AMCLC

Over 140 residents and fellows as well as representative members of the leadership of the house of radiology from across the nation made the trek to our nation's capital this year to attend another successful and thought provoking Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference (AMCLC). The RFS program continued to follow the theme of prior years focusing on leadership development and discussion of important and emerging issues in radiology highlighted by Richard Gunderman, MD, PhD and several other leading members of the ACR.

This year's "hot topics" included changes to the timing and structure of board certification in radiology, future practice models for radiology, the launch of the Face of Radiology campaign, reimbursement changes in the pipeline, and strategic threats to radiology in the 21st century, a topic explored by Frank Lexa, MD, MBA.

2009 RFS Annual Meeting
May 2-6, 2009, Washington D.C.

The annual meeting of the Resident and Fellow Section (RFS) is held in conjunction with the AMCLC. Residents and fellows from across the country attend to discuss training and professional issues, participate in leadership development seminars, interact with ACR and chapter leadership, and participate in the ACR Council meeting. More information on the RFS & ACR meetings will be available in early 2009.

Ways To Attend
Every state chapter receives funding from the ACR to help sponsor at least two resident participants. Are you interested in attending? Contact your state chapter leaders or contact us so we can put you in touch with your state chapter.

Even if you are not the official state representative, many residency programs sponsor a resident to attend the meeting. Talk to your Department Chair or Program Director to find out if you can attend. In exchange for attending the meeting, many residents give a departmental Grand Rounds, and the RFS Executive Committee assembles a talk for you to make it easy to share what you have learned from the annual meeting with your peers.
