American Board of Radiology Proposes Changes to Diagnostic Exam
According to the ABR Web site, proposed changes to certification exams in diagnostic radiology include revisions to the exam's structure, content, and timing. Luckily, the changes will not affect residents currently in-training. However, they will affect residents entering diagnostic radiology training in the near future. Depending on the readiness of the new exams, the changes will apply to residents who begin their training in 2009, 2010, or 2011. To review all proposed changes, visit the ABR Web site.

MRI Teaching File -- Submit Cases to Get an Apple iPod Touch
It just keeps getting better. By submitting cases to the ACR-RFS MRI Teaching File, you can score one of the hottest new tech toys out - the new Apple iPod Touch. Submit three cases and you will receive an 8-gigabyte iPod Touch; if you submit four cases, you receive the 16-gigabyte model. If you prefer, you can still receive $300 cash for submitting three cases. Visit the MRI Teaching File today to view the database of cases and to retrieve instructions on how to submit cases.

The ACR at RSNA -- Residents Reception and More

See below for additional information:
  • ACR Residents Reception -- Relax and enjoy refreshments with your peers while mingling with leaders at the ACR RFS Reception on Tues., Nov. 27 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Five residents will be selected to receive a free iPhone -- so come find out what's new at ACR. Participate in the 2008 Intersociety Conference as a Member-in-Training
The Intersociety Committee is a freestanding committee of the ACR and serves as a gathering place for radiology's leaders. In this forum, each society has an equal voice in helping formulate solutions to the issues confronting the practice of diagnostic radiology and radiation oncology. Two members-in-training will be elected by the ACR Council during the ACR Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference (AMCLC) 2008, and the winners will attend the 2008 Intersociety Summer Conference. The individuals elected must also write a report on some aspect of the meeting for publication in the ACR Bulletin.

To run for one of these positions, please ask your chapter to submit your name to the College Nominating Committee. The deadline for submitting nominations is Dec. 30. For more information, visit the ACR Web site or contact Mary Jane Donahue at mjdonahue@acr.org.
